Updated Store Policies

Now that we have settled into our new location, we've taken the time to update some of our store policies. This post is to share them all so you know what's going on.


Yarns purchased at Sweet Yarns may be returned as long as the following criteria are met:

  • Yarn is in original condition.
  • Sweet Yarns is still carrying the yarn.
  • Yarn is brought back with receipt within 3 months of purchase.

Yarn Winding

Some of our yarn comes in skeins that need to be wound into cakes before knitting or crocheting with them. We are happy to wind them for you at no charge. You can always bring a skein back to the store to be wound at a later date for no charge. We will also wind yarn not purchased at Sweet Yarns at the cost of $1/skein.


Special Orders

Non-refundable deposit of 50% of total cost to be deposited upon ordering. Deposit for individual needles is $10.00. Deposit to be applied to final total upon pick up of order. No returns or exchanges on special orders.



Items on hold will be kept for a maximum of 4 weeks. Items include:

  • Special orders waiting to be picked up.
  • Yarn dropped off or left to be wound.
  • Online store purchases to-be-picked-up instead of shipped.
  • Phone and email orders.


Gift Certificates

Sweet Yarns' gift certificates do not expire. After one year, gift certificates can only be used for up to half of purchase amount before taxes.


The Old Haunt Lounge

For the winter months, outdoor shoes are not allowed in The Old Haunt lounge. If you are attending class, coming in for help, or spending some time at Sweet Yarns working on a project, please bring a change of shoes. We have a coat rack and mats at the back of the store for your outerwear.
