September @ Sweet Yarns

It's a cool wet day today and it definitely feels like Fall. Hard to believe we'll soon be back in school routines in my house very shortly. What does Fall bring to your household?

As we head into September, here is the latest news for Sweet Yarns for the month. Please read through all the notes below.

SHOPPING
Our current hours are Tuesdays (10 to 3), Thursdays (1 to 6), and Saturdays (10 to 3). We don't currently have any limitations on shopping instore other than customers need to stay 6 feet apart.

Starting Tuesday, September 7th, we are finally going back to five days a week at the store. We will be open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10AM to 3PM, other than Thursdays which will be 1PM to 6PM. We ask that you make sure to give everyone lots of space as they shop so everyone feels comfortable.

We'll have these shortened hours so that I can continue to do deliveries for the foreseeable future. Deliveries in Greater Sudbury occur usually before or after the store hours.

You can shop on our website 24/7. You can pick up your orders at the store, have it delivered to your home in Greater Sudbury, or have it shipped to you through Canada Post if you live farther away. Shipping is done usually next business day.

An update to our shopping procedures will be sent out as soon as there are any changes.

Berroco Sample Trunk Show

Berroco sent us their Sample Trunk Show. There are nine fabulous samples of their patterns made up in their yarns. Some are beautiful tops that you can craft over the winter and wear next year when the warm weather returns. Other items you'll want to make now and wear soon. Here for a limited time, stop by the shop to see the samples in person.

September Competitions

Have you picked your patterns and yarn yet for our September competitions? We're doing a Toque Off and Santa's Workshop. Join in the fun and get your craft on! Stop by the store to get some assistance in picking the stuff you need. We'll be sharing what we're working on in the Sweet Yarnies group. All the info is posted there already about the fun.

Virtual Connections

With adding more open hours at the store, I'm going to have to scale back a bit on the Facebook Lives. Starting in September we'll only be doing the Virtual Knit Night - Thursdays at 6:30PM (one hour) through Facebook Live. We'll be continuing these until we can have knit nights again at the store.

We have a Facebook group to share the projects we're working on - Sweet Yarnies. Make sure you come join us over there.

In store knitting

With adding more open hours at the store, we're also going to be adding back our in store knitting starting the week of September 7th. Because of the 6 foot physical distancing rule, we can only have three customers hanging out in The Old Haunt lounge at one time. If you are interested in reserving a spot, please contact the store.

Lauren can teach you from home this year! No, I'm not coming to visit but I'm creating videos to go with our Mystery Project Kits. We're releasing one each month. The first one is ready now for preorder on the website.

I'm not going to tell you what the kits are but I can share the themes in no particular order. The first ones are Level 1 - Cables, Mosaic, Lace. The second ones are Level 2 - Entrelac, German Short Rows, Brioche. The last ones are Level 3 - Intarsia, Fairisle & Steeking, Double Knitting.

Fall A-Longs

Are you planning on joining our KALs? We're placing our Fall yarn order soon so we're sure to get the yarns when they arrive at the suppliers. If you need help choosing, I'm happy to help find patterns and yarns to fit your budget. Stop by or contact the store. It's always fun to work on the same projects as others so you can share the struggles and the successes.

As always, thank you to all those who continue to support Sweet Yarns through all this.

Stay safe and healthy!
